Installation

Prepare Installation Media

  • Download the Media Creation Tool
  • Select “USB Device” and wait for the installation media to be ready
  • Boot to the USB device to start the install

Out-of-Box Setup

Follow these steps to create a local user

  • Make sure you are disconnected from the internet
  • Press [Shift] + [F10] to open a command prompt
  • Enter oobe\bypassnro
  • After setup restarts
    • Select language and keyboard layout
    • Skip adding a second keyboard layout
    • Select I don't have internet and then Continue with limited setup
  • Proceed to create a local user
  • On the “Privacy” screen, turn off all settings
  • After setup is complete, you may connect to the internet

Disable shortcut keys that can interrupt gaming

  • Go to Keyboard under Accessibility in Settings
  • Click “Sticky Keys” and turn off all options
  • Click “Filter Keys” and turn off all options
  • Keep “Toggle Keys” off

Disable lock screen when resuming from sleep

  • Applies the change to the current power profile
